WORDS LIKE LIGHT
Monday, February 7, 2022
Sometimes it seems clear to me that life is a circle with no circumference, which means that everything – every mouse and mountain and small stick and person and action – is always at the exact center of the universe. Right this moment, as I’m typing these words, I and these words – and everything else – are at the center of a universe that has no boundary lines. A lady in China choosing what to have with tea is at the absolute center of everything, and so is a tree tumbling in a wind in Montana, and so is the step a small boy is taking in Beirut. We are all, always and in all ways, at the heart of the boundless universe.
Isn’t that always a good excuse for at least a small smile?
