SPIRIT

It is the spirit of engines 
that gives them joy in the morning. 
It is the spirit of faucets 
that sends forth water 
to bless our hands. It is 
the spirit of words 
that makes them land and settle 
in the branches of our lives. 
It is the spirit of a book 
that shakes the branches 
in a breeze.
