QUICK WORDS

Theme for April: Receptivity

Tuesday, April 6, 2021

Here’s a ‘poem-in-ink’ for today, written in ink so I can’t make any changes. I was simply receptive to whatever thoughts and words came. Like the present moment, the poem is what it is.

And here’s an oral, then-and-there poem, spoken this morning as we were walking in Noank, CT – and never to be revised. As always, like the present moment, it is what it is.

TREASURES IN NOANK
an oral then-and-there poem
April 6, around 8:55 a.m.

Here comes a car
carrying treasures, I'm sure,
and here comes a puppy
ahead of us,
holding its master by the leash.
And here's another car passing
with the power of its drivers,
and in the distance, birdsongs,
and a little puppy
prepared to defend its master.

Footsteps following footsteps
like love follows love
forever.
