Darkness and Light

As we sat in silent meditation in our sunroom this morning, at just after 5:00 a.m., I took a photo of our small electric candles glowing in the darkness, a precious sight for us on each of these dark autumn mornings.

After breakfast, we drove down to the Osgewatchie Wildlife Preserve and walked two miles of its lovely rise-and-fall trails, and, as usual, it felt like the promised land to me.

There was water shining with fall’s colorful reflections …

… and hillsides of golden color.
