Walt Whitman liked to speak of walking out in nature as ‘sauntering’, and perhaps Delycia and I can call ourselves saunterers, since we love to stride along through the woods or on country roads. Of course, at 78 and 79, we saunter at a relatively slow pace, but in our hearts, we do see ourselves as serious ramblers in love with the countryside.
